1. New Wall
Select Wall, and in the Element List, click New to create RC Wall.
Tip:
To define and draw elements more easily, you do not have to click Define frequently. To switch between the Define view and Draw view, you can call out the Element List and Attribute Editor by default.
2. Define Wall
After creating wall, in the Attribute Editor of wall, you can modify name and size, input rebar info, and the like according to drawings.
Attribute:
(1) Name: Input name according to the drawing.
(2) Category & Material: Select options according to actual projects. They can be used as conditions for viewing quantities, to help extract quantities by condition.
(3) Thickness: Input name according to the drawing.
(4) Axis from Left Sideline: It is half of wall thickness by default, representing that walls are laid out in the middle. If eccentric walls exist, you need to adjust it manually.
(5) Horizontal/Vertical/Binding/Link/Hooks: Input values according to the drawing. You can view the input format by clicking the More button.
(6) Additional horizontal and vertical bar: used to reinforce the horizontal and vertical distribution bar.
(7) Other Rebar: If there are other rebar which need to be calculated, they can be input by using Other Rebar.
(8) Category Name: Rebar of door/window opening can be classified as in wall entity. Category name of wall entity can be viewed here, but cannot be modified manually.
(9) Elevation: It is shown in the figure below:
(10) Remarks: This attribute value is only a label, and doesn't affect any calculation.
(11) Steel Fabric: Input values according to the drawing. You can view the input format by clicking the More button.
(12) Summary Information: it is the name of element category by default. It enables to summarize rebar by category based on this information.
(13) Cover Thickness (mm): Cover thickness in floor management is read automatically. If current element needs special processing, the thickness can be input based on actual conditions; if covers at both sides are different, they are separated by "/".
(14) Main Bar Structure: when Set Dowel Bar is selected, dowel bar will be calculated automatically based on the setting; when Main Bar Anchorage is selected, vertical bar at upper floor wall extends into lower floor, and dowel bar will no longer be set separately.
(15) Add Lap to Horizontal Bar Corner: when rebar at outer side of exterior wall is selected to continually pass, this attribute value is valid. There are two options - Yes or No. If Yes is selected, then a lap is added when horizontal rebar in this wall section is calculated.
(16) Calculation Rule: To modify calculation setting. When rebar calculation rules are modified, current elements will automatically read them from project setting. If calculation method for current element needs special processing, current element can be set specifically.
(17) Lap Setting: Value of lap setting in floor setting is read automatically in the software. When current element has special requirement, the value can be modified based on actual conditions.
(18) Anchorage and Lap: Data in Floor Settings is read automatically in the software, and it is editable for special treatment of current element.
3. Draw Wall
After defining the wall, click Define to go to the Draw view and start the drawing of wall entities.
3.1 Line
Wall is a typical linear element, so you can use the Line drawing method directly. Snap two endpoints on the axis grid.
3.2 Shift+Left Click
It is used for drawing walls not on the axis grid. See Column for specific procedures.
