Before using software, you are recommended to get familiar with the following terminologies.
Main Floor: floors in actual project, i.e., Base Floor, -Xth Floor, First Floor, Second Floor, Typical Floor, Top Floor, etc... See "Floor Setting" for floor operation.
Element: shear wall, beam, slab, column and other elements created during drawing;
Entity: Entity for short, meaning the graphs in the drawing area.
Element ID: just like the ID card everybody has. ID is the only identifiable number granted to each element according to the graphic sequence, and is the only one in the current floor and current element type.
Public Attribute: attribute in blue font in the element attribute. Publicly owned by element entity. As in the attribute of wall shown in the figure below, horizontal distribution bar is a public attribute. So long as it is RCWALL-1, the horizontal distribution bar is (2)T12@200.
Private Attribute: attribute in black font in the element attribute. Privately owned by element entity.
Affiliated Element: an element is called affiliated element when it can only exist on other elements, such as door & window opening.
Block: Combination of all elements in the range selected by dragging a box is called a block. The block can be used for such operations as Copy, Move, Mirror, etc.
Click Select: When the mouse is at the Select state, an entity in the drawing area will be selected if it is clicked. Such operation is called as click select.
Drag Select: When cursor is at the Select state, drag select in the drawing area.
Drag Select has two kinds:
1. Click any point in the drawing and drag a box to the right to select, and the drag box is in solid line; only entities completely inside the box are selected.
2. Click any point in the drawing and drag a box to the left, and the drag box is in dotted line, and entities inside the box and entities intersecting with the drag box can be all selected.
Point Entity: A dot in the software, drawn by drawing points. Such as column, isolated foundation, door, window, wall opening, etc...
Linear Entity: A line in the software, drawn by drawing lines. Such as wall, beam, strip foundation...
Surface Entity: A surface in the software, drawn by drawing an enclosed area. Such as slab, raft foundation...
Rebar Type: R=Grade 250 rebar, W=Grade 460 Plain rebar, Y=Grade 460 Type1 rebar, T=Grade 460 Type2 type rebar, NW=Grade 500 Plain rebar, NT=Grade 500 Type2 rebar.
